The second half of the year is stacking up to be a great time for big releases. One of the biggest in the metal scene is Dayseeker’s Creature in the Black Night which is coming out on October 24th. To gear up for the big release, the band has released their third single, “Shapeshift”. You can watch the music video for it here!
On the message behind the song, lead singer Rory Rodriguez shares, “This song is about the anxiety I live with on a daily basis. An open letter to myself about how it shifts and molds me into a different version of me."
Despite the darker undertones of the song, it has a fun upbeat, dancy vibe to it. It goes along well with the two other singles the band has previously released, “Pale Moonlight” and the title track, "Creature in the Black Night”. Shapeshift is a great song and one that I could definitely see Dayseeker fans screaming to the band as they perform it. Hopefully they announce a tour soon because this is going to be a great album to celebrate. Just based off of the first three singles, I really like the direction Dayseeker is going in and I hope they hit a venue close to me on the tour they seem to be teasing on social media.
Before they do their own headliner, Dayseeker will be supporting Ice Nine Kills and then In This Moment to close out the year. Their headliner will likely be in the winter of 2026, but like they say, good things come to those who wait.
