On Friday, September 26th, spooky metalcore outfit Dark Divine dropped their latest single, "Halloweentown II: Welcome Home". This track marks as a direct sequel to their fan-favorite track "Halloweentown". Released today via Thriller Records, the new track is now available to stream, along with a visualizer below. The band currently comprises of members Anthony Martinez (vocals), Robby Lynch (guitar), Cory Scissorhands (bass), and Triston Blaize (drums).
Frontman Anthony Martinez shares with fans, ""Halloweentown II: Welcome Home means exactly what the title implies. We depicted the original Halloweentown as a place to be feared. However, what happens when you realize you might be enjoying the party in the afterlife? I wanted Halloweentown II to be a means of accepting the macabre and becoming one with it. You get to be a part of the party 6ft underground. Just let it take over you and enjoy yourself."
For those who are fans of horror, Dark Divine is the perfect band to go check out. As we enter the fall season and getting prepared for Halloween, this track is a perfect song to add to your playlists. When I saw the visuals, I honestly got creeped out seeing the zombie just staring into my soul holding his little pumpkin. At the start of the track, there are haunting synths accompanied by an insane riff and blast beat drums. What is a Dark Divine song without Martinez yelling at us at the beginning of the track? In comparison to the original "Halloweentown", this track is a lot more melodic but still continues to impress me with Martinez's transition from cleans to screams. For fans of Motionless in White, the lead up to the breakdown reminds me of their track "Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Ride" because of the haunting vocals, and the instrumentals are creepy. If you have not checked out this band, you need to.
The band currently is on the road with blessthefall on the 'Gallows' Tour to celebrate the release of the latest blessthefall album. I will actually be at the New York City show tonight covering the show. Below are the dates.
