Connecticut’s own beautifully chaotic noise-rock problem child, INTERCOURSE, has officially joined the Brutal Panda Records roster. With a fourth full-length studio album dropping this fall, the band’s reign of sonic terror is far from over.

Formed in 2013 with a mission to irritate and obliterate in equal measure, INTERCOURSE has built a reputation for fusing noise rock’s abrasive unpredictability with the punch-in-the-teeth urgency of hardcore—minus the self-importance. Whether that makes them visionary or just glorified trash artists depends on your tolerance for feedback, sarcasm, and songs about society’s filth. Either way, they’ve been releasing a record nearly every year since 2014, refusing to go away and somehow getting louder in the process.

2023’s Halo Castration Institute marked a significant high point for the band, earning them critical acclaim (and even more enemies) from across the underground. Last year’s Egyptian Democracy EP only doubled down on their formula—snarling, violent, weird, and weirdly catchy. It solidified their place as the go-to soundtrack for aging punks who still shop in the youth section and have no intention of growing up.

They’ve shared stages with boundary-pushers like Chat Pile, Deadguy, The Red Chord, and The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, holding their own (and sometimes stealing the show) with sheer chaos and a frontman who sounds like he’s gargling battery acid. They’ve been featured in Decibel, Lambgoat, New Noise Magazine, and even landed a spot on The Needle Drop’s Top 15 EPs of 2024—proof that even Anthony Fantano can’t look away from the madness.
