Cleveland Welcomes SoftSpoken For The First Time

The opening act of the night was Featherweight from Akron, Ohio. They instantly captivated the audience with their infectious energy. Fans enthusiastically sang along, creating a chorus of voices that intertwined with the band’s dynamic performance, celebrating both their newer hits and cherished classics.

In a thrilling surprise during their penultimate song, they invited Brandon Farley from 6Deep to the stage, whose powerful vocals added an electrifying edge to the performance. This collaboration sent waves of excitement through the crowd, heightening the anticipation for the fantastic bands yet to come. I would recommend seeing them if they ever come into your town!

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, the second band to take the stage tonight was none other than Dread Engine. Having seen them perform before, I had high expectations, but they truly surpassed them this time. The energy in the venue was electric; you could feel the excitement crackling in the air.

The band members exhibited a delightful mix of charisma and humor, playfully dancing across the stage as they delivered an impressive setlist that showcased both their older hits and fresh tracks. If you ever find the opportunity to catch Dread Engine live, I wholeheartedly recommend seizing it—you’re in for an unforgettable experience!

Last but certainly not least, SoftSpoken hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, captivated the audience with their remarkable performance. I’ve been an avid fan of SoftSpoken ever since I stumbled upon their mesmerizing single, "Oblivion," on TikTok about two years ago. Since that moment, my admiration for their music has only deepened, making the opportunity to photograph them an unforgettable experience.

The energy exuding from the band was infectious, particularly Kevin Potts, who was a whirlwind of enthusiasm on the drums. He was not only pounding out captivating rhythms but also tossing his drumsticks into the air with wild abandon, all while sporting a series of playful, almost theatrical expressions. The other members of the band were equally lively, dancing across the stage and fully immersing themselves in the rhythm of their new songs.

As they transitioned into their either their final song, "Oblivion," or the song before an exhilarating moment unfolded — Samuel Scheuer dramatically got down on his back, and in a stunning display of camaraderie and creativity, Dylan Carter leapt over him not once, but twice. It was a sight to behold, leaving the crowd in awe and cheering for more.

The overwhelming enthusiasm from the audience amplified SoftSpoken’s set, and the openers also received a warm reception. If SoftSpoken is ever in your town, seize the chance to see them live! This is an experience you definitely won’t want to miss!
