To celebrate the two-year anniversary of their devastating tenth studio album Terrasite, Cattle Decapitation has released a brand-new two-hour documentary titled From This Flesh: A Cattle Decapitation Story—a raw, immersive look at the band’s creative process and legacy.
The film was shot, directed, and edited by Australian videographer Nicholas VanVidler, who also worked with the band on the 2021 music video for “Finish Them.” Over the course of the Terrasite recording sessions, VanVidler captured everything—every riff, scream, argument, and breakthrough moment. What began as a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album evolved into something much deeper: a retrospective, emotionally loaded exploration of the band’s history and evolution.
Frontman Travis Ryan puts it best: “Our buddy Nick VanVidler set out to make a studio doc about Terrasite, but what came out was more of an intense, introspective deep-dive into who we are as a band. It’s funny, sad, insightful, unfiltered—everything a real fan would want to see.”
