Catch Your Breath Go Dark With New Release

Catch Your Breath, an alternative metalcore band based out of Austin, Texas, have dropped a new, emotional track, Dark via Thriller Records. This is the first new release since they released the deluxe version of their debut album, Shame On Me. The song is accompanied with a visualizer and you can stream the new single here.

Dark is a track for all the bleeding hearts out there. Vocalist Josh Mowrey says, "This song is for anyone still sleeping on the side they left." Dark dives into the emotions of loving someone who is already emotionally gone from the relationship. Described as the prequel to Catch Your Breath's most popular single, Dial Tone, Dark delivers similar themes, and sonically, carries the band's signature mix of synth, electric and acoustic drums, emotional lyrics and a breakdown.

Dark is a song packed with layers. The song starts with Mowrey singing the first line of the chorus, accompanied with some synths. As the song works its way through the first verse and chorus, the vocals start to layer, and the instrumental starts to blend synths and drums. The song collects different sounds and layers in anticipation for the chorus, which now brings out the metalcore-esque side of the song, with guitar riffs from guitarist Teddy Herrera, a steady bassline from bassist Cianan Madigan, and drum fills from drummer Onell Hernandez. By the time the second chorus finishes, a micro breakdown bridges the gap between the second chorus and the final chorus. The song finishes with haunting hums from Mowrey, the final touch to the emotional lyrics of Dark.

In addition to the release of Dark, Catch Your Breath is going back on the road in November. They will be providing direct support for Nothing More on their Carnal Nature World Tour. They will be support for the entire tour, performing in the UK/EU for all of November alongside Solence, and Ankor, and then performing in the US and Canada from January to March, this time performing alongside Archers, and Doobie.
