Canadian Punk Band The Bloody Hell Drop Second Single “Are You Happy?” Ahead of Third Album

Ahead of their third album, “Blood Code,” Halifax, Nova Scotia punk group The Bloody Hell have dropped a second single, “Are You Happy?” along with a music video, which can be watched HERE.

The song harkens back to the core fundamentals of punk rock, though is a bit of a sonic evolution for the band. Driven by a fast, almost upbeat guitar and bass riff, “Are You Happy?” shows a melodic shift for The Bloody Hell, even compared to the first single off of the new album, “Feel It Too,” which was released in late February. The new album, “Blood Code,” is expected to drop in fall of this year.

The music video for “Are You Happy?” is fairly straightforward, mostly being footage shot in band rehearsals and in the studio. Although, a few clips of live shows were thrown in as well. This type of video compliments the raw, unfiltered punk nature that the band thrives on.

Musically, the track is a big step forward in our songwriting approach, showcasing how our two new members have enhanced and morphed our sound, with this song bordering on hard rock, even slightly prog in the breakdown section. The majority of our previous releases have always been more straightforward, more fast-paced, and more punk rock, so it is exciting to step outside that "box" and let the song venture into places we've yet to explore. Also interesting to see how the public will receive this, we feel it's one of our strongest singles yet, but we'll let the audience be the judge, let us know .....Are You Happy?"

-Ian Kean, Vocalist

The Bloody Hell was formed in 2017 in Halifax and currently consists of vocalist Ian Kean, guitarists James Densley and Andrew Welsman, drummer Ben Schulman and bassist Joe Woods.
