Brazilian progressive metal band MAESTRICK is excited to announce their upcoming studio album, Espresso Della Vita: Lunare, set for release on May 2, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl. The band has also dropped a new single, “Agbara,” featuring Jim Grey from Caligula's Horse, along with a lyric video, which is available now.
The album explores deep, emotional themes like addiction, racial prejudice, abuse, and the Holocaust. In the final track, the character’s name, Dante, is revealed, drawing parallels with Dante Alighieri’s journey from hell to paradise. The album reflects the idea that, like Dante, we all go through cycles of paradise, purgatory, and hell throughout our lives.Vocalist Fábio Caldeira shared the inspiration behind “Agbara” saying, “'Agbara' blends various musical influences, mixing Afro-Brazilian rhythms like Maracatu and Samba with our distinct metal style. We were inspired by artists like Hermeto Pascoal and Sérgio Mendes. The song represents artistic diversity and cultural unity, featuring Jim Grey singing in both English and Portuguese, along with the all-female Maracatu group Movimento Baque Mulher. It’s about power and strength that comes from the fusion of different cultures, languages, and musical genres.”

Lastly, when reflecting on the new album, Caldeira continued: “We started Espresso Della Vita thirteen years ago, with the idea of telling a story about a one-day train journey, symbolizing our own life journey. The album is split into two parts: Solare (day) and Lunare (night). Partnering with Frontiers for Lunare is a huge milestone for us.” and that “Lunare represents our most ambitious and grandiose project yet. We’re storytellers, creating vivid musical landscapes and emotions. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and excited for the journey ahead.”'Espresso Della Vita: Lunare'
