People are getting hyped for Bonnaroo’s annual SuperJam Esoterica: The Alchemy of Pop following its lineup release on May 6th.
Bonnaroo is a four-day music and arts festival held on a large 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee known for its multi-genre lineups and positive atmosphere. In past years stars like Eminem, Pearl Jam, Kacey Musgraves, and The Lumineers have performed at the large music festival, creating a cohesive atmosphere for all music lovers. Due to the festival being on a large-scale farm, most attendees camp in tents or RV’s on site in a designated piece of the property making it a temporary self-sustaining city. Something that sets Bonnaroo apart from other festivals of its caliber is that is has round-the-clock activities for its attendees such as late-night performances, art installations, yoga classes, and workshops teaching sustainability. It is also a known fact that Bonnaroo has a “Bonnaroovian Code” which encourages attendees to “respect the farm” and help one another, further pushing the feeling of community.
Bonnaroo was co-founded in 2002 by Ashley Capps of AC Entertainment and the production company Superfly. They later partnered with agent Chip Hooper and manager Conan Capshaw to launch the large festival in Manchester, Tennessee. June 21st, 2002 kicked off the annual celebration and was attended by over 70,000 people. It sold out within 19 days of tickets going on sale at $100 a pop 2 months before the gates even opened. Attendees were able to see performances from artists like Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper, and The String Cheese Incident. The festival has remained an annual even but has had a few years in between of cancellations due to COVID in 2020 and flooding in both 2021 and 2025.
This year Bonnaroo’s annual SuperJam will be held on June 13th in the middle of Bonnaroo’s normal 4-day plans and led by Kesha. She will be joined on stage by artists like Blondshell, Chromebook, Del Water Gap, Grouplove, Margo Price, Mountain Grass Unit, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Wyatt Flores. More artists will be announced at later dates to keep up the public’s anticipation. A limited number of tickets for Bonnaroo as a whole are currently still available, ranging from $435 to $27,500 depending on your preferred attendance.
