Black Veil Brides Share Video for Cover of Sweeney Todd's"My Friends" From New "Bleeders" EP Via Playbill

BLEEDERS EP IS OUT JUNE 21 VIA SPINEFARMBAND.

THEY JUST WRAPPED UP A SUCCESSFUL SPRING 2024 HEADLINE TOUR.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES launched a new season of redemption and revenge with ‘Bleeders,’ a cinematic music video, battle cry, and tour created by band leader Andy Biersack.

The single ‘Bleeders’ and its cinematic music video coincide with the upcoming EP of the same name, which is set to be released on June 21 via Spinefarm. You can now pre-order the Bleeders EP. HERE

The band has achieved an impressive milestone, accumulating over 5 million streams for their track and video within a remarkably short few weeks of its release. Additionally, the single has already secured a spot in the Top 30 on rock radio.

Regarding their EP, it serves as both a reflection of BVB's journey so far and a glimpse into their future. Being the band's first release in collaboration with Spinefarm, it includes the title track and a touching rendition of Sweeney Todd’s ‘My Friends,’ showcasing their musical versatility and creativity.

"From the moment I laid my hands on my father's original cast recording and listened to Len Cariou's captivating and ominous portrayal of Sweeney, I became captivated by this production," recalls Biersack. "As a young child, I would insist that my entire family gather around to watch me perform songs like 'My Friends' in my homemade costume. It's truly a dream come true to have the opportunity to interpret this song and collaborate with our long-time friend and visionary director, Joshua Shultz, on the video. We aimed to create something that stayed true to the essence of the original and subsequent versions, while also embodying the unique spirit of Black Veil Brides, and we are ecstatic with the result."

The band converted their theatrical and allegorical stories of revenge into real-world philanthropy by joining forces with the American Red Cross to organize a virtual blood drive. "As Bleeders, it's our mission to create positive change. Support us in helping others during this time of need," read a statement from the band, consisting of Biersack, Jake Pitts, Jinxx, Christian "C.C." Coma, and Lonny Eagleton. A single pint of blood has the potential to save up to three lives. As of today, fans have pledged nearly 2,200 pints.

Before the emergence of the BVB Army, the multitude of lyric tattoos, and the gold and platinum records that ensued, Black Veil Brides was merely a dark vision conceived by an only child in Ohio. Already a fan of Batman and KISS, the striking image of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on the cover of his father's old CD (released a dozen years before he was born) was a pivotal moment for Biersack. Sweeney Todd paved the way for The Phantom of the Opera, Misfits, and everything that followed, ultimately leading to the birth of Andy Black and the rise of Black Veil Brides.

The band's cinematic grandeur and unwavering dedication to self-expression resonate deeply with their fellow "bleeders" who seek solace (and retribution) in the allure of darkness and imagination. ‘Knives and Pens,’ an early demo turned music video prior to Andy's encounter with his band of brothers (when he moved to Hollywood at 18 and lived in his car), has amassed over 160 million views. The RIAA-certified platinum single ‘In the End,’ nearing 170 million views, demonstrated that the group, whose merchandise dominated Hot Topic before their debut album, was here to stay. In 2021, ‘Scarlet Cross’ became their highest-charting Top 10 single. ‘Fallen Angels’ achieved gold status in 2023.

They blend a distinctive identity with an insatiable creative drive. They are an object of devotion for those who harmonize with their anthems as a united force, a diverse BVB Army that never backs down. Bleeders offer a glimpse into what will mark Black Veil Brides' most raw, cinematic, and relentless era.

Black Veil Brides and their audience join forces to vanquish the darkness, united as bleeders through and through.
