Berlin-based metalcore trailblazers vianova have unleashed their newest single, "Whatever Alright"—a volatile mix of bone-crushing breakdowns, hypnotic club beats, and razor-sharp rap-inspired vocals. Blending the raw intensity of hardcore with the rhythmic intricacy of artists like Timbaland, the track pulses with an anxious, high-voltage energy that’s as danceable as it is devastating.

With “Whatever Alright,” vianova dives deep into the cold, hollow spaces of emotional burnout. The song channels a sense of bleak indifference and emotional numbness, portraying apathy not as a weakness, but as a shield. Laced with monotone, groove-heavy verses and explosive transitions into total sonic chaos, the track captures that eerie push-pull between going through the motions and silently imploding. It’s a song that doesn’t try to fix anything—it just stares into the void and says, fine, whatever.

The accompanying music video, starring and choreographed by Berlin-based dancer Greta Schuster, visually amplifies the track’s underlying tension. Set in a surreal, dreamlike space that feels equal parts sterile and unhinged, Schuster performs a routine that begins with calculated control and slowly descends into unfiltered expression—her body unraveling just as the music does. It’s a performance that feels equal parts haunting and liberating.

From darkened clubs to the heart of the pit, “Whatever Alright” thrives in both environments. The track’s beat-driven foundation and thunderous low-end invite movement—whether it’s headbanging or losing yourself on a dance floor at 2 a.m. Mixed by Leon Schmidt and once again mastered by Jens Bogren, the song is a masterclass in genre-bending production that refuses to play by anyone else’s rules.

"Whatever Alright" marks a bold new chapter for vianova—one where metalcore crashes into club culture, and detachment becomes a shared, cathartic ritual.
