I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to my music tastes. I was raised on country, slipped into the 2000s pop era, and then into the metal world. But, I still respect my country roots at times, and you can bet that if there's a country artist out there, they pass through my area and I love that.
That's how I heard about Warren Zeiders, and that he was going to be bringing down the house at BECU Live! At Northern Quest casino. The energy was prickling and the night air finally felt like fall was creeping in and I knew that these outdoor shows would be slowly coming to an end for the season.
Once the sun started to set, Chayce Beckham took the stage. The American Idol winner brought an amazing stage presence. Releasing his debut album on April 5th, 2024 he's taken the world by storm. He debuted his chart topping hit 23 during the nineteenth season of American Idol. He wrote the song a year prior, and it made him the first American Idol winner to win the competition singing his own songs.
Raised on a mix of country, rock, and hip hop, Beckham mingles all genres into his music. His first album, out now, names Bad for Me has skyrocketed the California native into fame and he will headline his own tour soon. Hearing 23 live was something I didn’t know that I needed in my life, but hearing the love and struggle in the words was something I could feel. The song encompasses his struggles with alcoholism after being involved in a drunk driving incident.

Warren Zeiders hit the stage next, and I had not really heard his music before this, but I came out of the concert a big fan. Starting his career doing covers of songs by the likes of Tyler Childers and Lynyrd Skynyrd, he soon released his second album in 2022 when he signed with Warner Records. 717 Tapes, The Album hit on September 19th, 2022. The Frostburg, Maryland native began his career on TikTok and when he released “Ride the Lightning” it reached over 500 million views on the app.
Opening with Intoxicated, he built the energy and the anticipation to palpable levels and that energy never waned. Being able to sit back and listen to his versions of some of my favorite songs was the breath of fresh air that I needed, and I knew that I needed to listen to more of his music from here on out. Covering “Brand New Man” and turning around and adding in “Simple Man” was just music to my ears.
He closed out the night with the song that started it all. It was as if he did this as a thank you to all of the fans that made moments like this possible and you could tell the love he has for everyone who helped him get to where he was, and that in an of itself is so refreshing to see.
