Beartooth Announce “The Surface (Deluxe Addition) + Share “ATTN.” Video

Almost one year after the release of their critically acclaimed album “The Surface”, Beartooth has recently released “The Surface (Deluxe Addition)” via Red Bull Records, which features a new single “ATTN.”. Watch the video HERE.

“ATTN.”, like many other tracks from “The Surface”, features upbeat melodies, catchy choruses, and heavy breakdowns characteristic of Beartooth. Lyrically, it conveys an uplifting message as it details frontman Caleb Shomo’s growth as a person and artist as he overcomes self doubt and his inner demons. The song perfectly fits within the tracklist of “The Surface” as many of the tracks have the same themes of positivity and finding self-love, a stark contrast to the band’s earlier work which focused on Shomo’s inner struggles and the pain that came with them. The music video follows Shomo through the subway system, surrounded by passengers who start out oblivious but later start singing along with him, and ends with him taking an elevator back to the surface. It is a clever visual metaphor illustrating his personal growth and his growth as an artist.

Shomo says about the new track, "'ATTN.' is about the ultimate conclusion that I've come to after this whole album cycle and living with these songs for as long as I have now […] I think self-love has led to a deeper understanding of my value as a person, to myself and to others. I will always be proud of my art, and I will always be proud of the work that I've put in to say what matters to me. I think that's a great lesson for anybody to take in their own work and their own life."

“The Surface (Deluxe Addition)” also features three live tracks from their sold-out show at the Hard Rock in Sacramento on their headliner tour earlier this year, and three remixes of three different tracks from the original record, including the chart-topping “I Was Alive” and “Might Love Myself”.
