Hailing from Sweden, Avatar Releases their brand new song Captain Goat
"I am certain that when listeners experience 'Captain Goat,' they will immediately sense that the rules have taken an exhilarating turn once again," proclaims vocalist Eckerström with conviction. "It will always embody the essence of metal, and it will perpetually bear the distinct mark of Avatar. We refuse to craft the same song twice, and our relentless pursuit of reinvention is a hallmark of our artistry. This is the only way we know how to stretch our creative boundaries and aspire to reach the pinnacle of our potential.
'Captain Goat' delves into the haunting motif of Satan and the spirit's journey through the vast, shadowy underworld, serving as an intense meditation. It represents a profound negotiation with the brutal truths of life, inviting listeners to find acceptance while navigating the relentless darkness that surrounds us." As he discusses the accompanying visuals, he elaborates, "In the video, we daringly engage with these themes, seamlessly weaving together imagery from a rich tapestry of myths, folklore, and legendary tales. Moreover, any day I get to witness the guys shedding their layers for a scene is undoubtedly a highlight for all of us."
Looking ahead, we have exhilarating tours in the pipeline, supporting iconic bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica, along with an unprecedented milestone: our largest show EVER in the vibrant heart of Mexico City. Below is a detailed overview of the band's ambitious tour schedule for the next two years. Avatar is charging ahead with unstoppable momentum in our quest for global domination—rest assured, there is even more new music on the horizon. So for now, pay homage to the Captain. Captain Goat, that is.

ABOUT AVATAR
As a strange light in the sky beckons you towards something forbidden, you see a robed, horned ferryman rowing across a restless sea at the end of days. Back home, an eerie sound echoes through your house, coming from the basement. The news reports on a beautiful corpse, celebrated for her magnificent demise on the dance floor by those who could have saved her. You catch the last broadcast from an outpost succumbing to flames on a distant moon, where its inhabitants try to escape their own madness. Outside, there is a place you are not allowed to enter, no matter how intoxicating the gaze of the eyes among the trees. You lie awake at night, yet you dream a thousand dreams more real than any waking moment. Strange times call for a strange band. With a lifelong commitment to the misfit arts, Avatar delves deep into the collective subconscious.
They travel beyond the realms of flesh and far past the spiritual barriers broken in previous works. No matter how many warnings they receive, they keep venturing deeper into the woods. There is sense to be found in the senseless. They cast a gentle gaze upon terrifying, almost shapeless inner landscapes, and they have a damn good time doing it. "Don't go in the forest" is a warning heeded by those who see it as a challenge—freaks who can't resist the urge to seek truth and feel alive. It is a collection of strange tunes emerging from a circus tent in a meadow in a faraway valley, a place you can only reach by accident, walking a path impossible to remember or map out. With two eyes closed and one eye open.
Formed by John Alfredsson and Jonas Jarlsby as teenagers, Avatar soon grew to include Johannes Eckerström, Henrik Sandelin, and Simon Andersson. This marked the beginning of an evolution, aiming to connect what you hear with what you see. After Andersson left and Tim Öhrström joined, they had all the ingredients for a brew so potent that it would etch their names into the souls of millions. More than a band, Avatar has evolved into a form of concept art. To maintain the same drive they had on day one, they ensure that each creation must matter more than ever before. Regardless of how far they go, they are sworn to remain underdogs. There is so much to explore, so many ways to rediscover the simple yet sublime power hidden inside an electric guitar. It's all about trying new things, both on and off stage—choirs, brass instruments, Moogs, pianos, cellos, and violas. As long as it all worships at the altar of the riff, the possibilities are as vast as the universe.
"Don’t go in the forest" stretches, bends, and breaks the boundaries of what Avatar is and can be, offering both their most introspective and their most explosive moments. This is achieved only after a lifetime of embracing madness, using all their gathered experiences to be reborn. In other words, by making discovery the core tenet of their work, every new release feels as fresh and exciting as their very first rehearsal. While the studio experience is becoming an increasingly powerful tool for self-expression, it is on stage that Avatar truly comes alive. Every testimonial echoes the same conclusion in all caps: Avatar is a MUST-SEE experience.
Each album cycle has produced record-breaking milestones, with recent highlights including their entry into Latin America, first with Iron Maiden and then with sold-out shows throughout Mexico and beyond. They are now the talk of countless festivals across Europe and the United States, consistently stealing the show and closing stages while setting attendance records at their headline performances. From Australia to Brazil, from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the Pacific Northwest to the Deep South, their unique blend of suggestive theatrics and unapologetic heavy metal has proven that there is only one Avatar, and everyone else is playing for second place. Their impact is further evidenced by chart-toppers like "The Dirt I'm Buried In," which has reached heights that seem unimaginable for a band navigating one of the craziest eras in music history, taking matters into their own hands with their independent label, Black Waltz Records. For centuries, the circus would come to town. Now, for the first time in history, the gravitational pull of Avatar is so strong that the town is coming to the circus—a circus deep in the forest. A forbidden place. A taboo you are destined to break.
