On March 31, Swedish metal powerhouse Avatar shared some massive news: they will be performing their first-ever arena headliner show on October 31 at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City.
A theatrical band with some slightly spooky elements, Avatar’s first arena headliner being on Halloween is certainly fitting for their legacy. Mexico-based group Ladrones will join Avatar as support for the show. This is their first headliner since the end of their “Great Metal Circus” tour, signaling more to come. Avatar has also confirmed in the past that they are working on new music, so the lucky fans attending the Halloween show may be able to hear some new releases. Additionally, a larger venue also gives Avatar more leeway to go above and beyond for their famed onstage theatrics, which fans will eagerly get to look forward to. The Pepsi Center headliner is just the beginning of a new era for Avatar.
