After their January release of their self-titled Album, Alter Bridge brought their ‘What Lies Within’ tour to the 3Arena in Dublin on the 28th February to showcase the new album with Daughtry and Sevendust.
Sevendust, Signed to Napalm Records, Blasted onto the stage first. The Atlanta based rock band started off with Clint Lowery and John Connolly on guitar playing the famous intro to ‘Black’ which saw cheers rise from the crowd, followed by their most popular tune ‘Denial’ which had the crowd in uproar with Lajon Witherspoon’s vocals roaring through the arena as the band were well underway with their set. The groovy drums of Morgan Rose made the whole band gel together and paired with the bass from Vince Hornsby they created a solid foundation and sway to their powerful set.

Daughtry, signed to RCA Records, followed shortly after Sevendust, And spared no time getting started with Chris Daughtry blasting into one of their newer released songs 'Divided’, with a massively atmospheric sound helped by the synth of Elvio Fernandes. After they played ‘The Bottom’ which brought the pace down dramatically, with the guitar of Brian Craddock looming on the background before entering their powerful chorus. The drums of Anthony Ghazel made an explosive entrance into the next song ‘The Day I Die’ which saw Chris pull out his guitar for the chorus of the song. The band continued to play some of their hit songs from their 2006 self-titled Billboard 200 album ‘Daughtry’ with songs like ‘It’s Not Over’, ‘Home’ and ‘Over You’.

Long into the night, Alter Bridge, Signed to Napalm Records, took to the stage. With a daunting 16 song setlist ahead the band wasted no time getting to business with the Djent heavy intro of one of their new songs ‘Silent Divide’, lead by the godfather of Hard Rock guitar Mark Tremonti. Followed soon after by the supporting guitar and voice of the band Myles Kennedy, His voice filled the arena as the show was now underway. After the band played their song ‘Addicted To Pain’, with a thrash intro and upbeat tempo, the crowd went wild, with the drumming of Scott Phillips blasting away the energy was electric. Next up they played ‘Cry Of Achilles’, a beautifully melodic intro that turns into a progressive masterpiece from each member of the quartet. Brian Marshall, the band's bassist, shook the entire stadium mid-song with his bass solo before the song blasters straight back into its amazing chorus.
As the set continued, the band played many old and new songs, one being a song sung by Tremonti called ‘Burn It Down’ followed by ‘Open Your Eyes’ and ‘Tested And Able’. The band played their hit song ‘Metalingus’ which was the WWE wrestler The Edge’s theme song for a time before exiting the stage leaving the crowd in suspense. They then came back on to play their songs ‘Blackbird’ and finished the set off with ‘Isolation’.
