After the huge success of their first single in over two years, “Silent Divide,” rock heavyweights ALTER BRIDGE have returned with another new track from their upcoming self-titled eighth studio album. Their latest song, “What Lies Within,” is now streaming on all major digital platforms. The band — featuring Myles Kennedy (vocals/guitar), Mark Tremonti (guitar/vocals), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums) — kicks off the track with a powerful guitar riff before the rhythm section takes over. Lyrically, the song dives into the darker side of human nature, as Kennedy sings, “What lies within, beneath the skin, something so dark and foreboding.” An animated video directed by J.T. Ibanez accompanies the release.
With over twenty years together, ALTER BRIDGE continue to prove they’re still at the top of their game. Known for their signature blend of crushing riffs, melodic vocals, and twin-guitar dynamics, the band has earned worldwide acclaim from both fans and critics. Their self-titled new album, Alter Bridge, drops January 9, 2026, via Napalm Records, and physical editions are now up for pre-order.
The band once again teamed up with longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette to record the album, which was tracked earlier this year at 5150 Studios in California and at Elvis’s personal studio in Florida. The album includes 12 brand-new tracks, featuring some of the band’s most memorable work yet. Songs like “Rue The Day,” “Disregarded,” and “Scales Are Falling” stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their classic material. On “Trust In Me,” Myles and Mark share vocal duties — Myles takes the verses while Mark handles the chorus — and that setup flips on “Tested And Able.” “Hang By A Thread” is poised to be a future live favorite, while the closer, “Slave To Master,” is the band’s longest track to date and delivers the epic sound ALTER BRIDGE are known for. The first single, “Silent Divide,” has already cracked the Active Rock charts and racked up more than 2 million views since release.

To celebrate the new album, ALTER BRIDGE will hit the road for the What Lies Within Tour. The 31-date European leg begins January 15 in Hamburg, Germany, and wraps up March 5 in Nottingham, UK.
