Afroman Does Surprise Pop Up Performance in Longview

Very rare does it happen that a well-known artist shows up at a local small venue and gives an incredible performance. This artist is known as Afroman. On Wednesday, August 5th, Afroman comes to the quiet little town of Longview Texas and performs at The Reo Palm Isle.

The venue was on the smaller side but that just made it feel more connected between the fans and the artist. When he came out in his head to toe American flag suit they crowd cheered as he made his way to the stage. He talked to the fans in the crowd as if it were a q & a which I had never seen. He took a good 5-10 minutes chatting with the crowd before he even began to perform.

One highlight that I would like to mention is that he got to know the people he was performing for. He came on strong with his first song of the night "Palmdale". The crowd began singing along word for word. He performed some of his biggest hits such ass "Because I Got High", "Crazy Rap" and even his scandalous song "Lemon Poundcake" which is the song he wrote after a police raid in his home in 2023 and one of the officers took a slice of his lemon pound cake he had on his counter. It has become a joke now so at every show he bring a lemon pound cake to put on display.

Throughout the performance he was dancing and hopping around on stage and off stage at one point he got down off stage and in front of the crowd and performed the running man dance. For being 6 foot tall and claiming to be 400 pounds the man can move it, overall I’d say if Afroman is performing near you, definitely go. His stage presence and overall charisma is over the top he puts on one heck of a show.
