Heavy hitting Cleveland, Ohio-based band Adrift on River Styx has released a head banging, guttural punch of a single “Hunter/Hunted“ on February 21 2025, as a follow to their last released album “Trial. Judgement. Accession.“ which was released in 2018. “Hunter/Hunted“ showcases dominating screams from lead vocalist AJ Kotris, versatile, captivating guitar riffs, a punchy bass line, and heavy hitting drums to encapsulate listeners the moment they listen.
Accompanied by the new release we are also given a new music video. The music video itself gives a sort of interrogation style between each passing member of the band throughout the video. Potentially portraying being hunted? And maybe we were the hunters along the way? Is this a form of telling a story of the battles in our head? Situations that have come upon the band?
The band states:
"The video is a visual culmination of the last two singles as well as this one. I feel it helps tell the story of the three songs we have so far, especially the contract concept, where we are all being interrogated at the desk, being forced to sign “The Contract” which is a callback to our previous single."
"This song is part of an ongoing story with the other two singles we have recently released (with our album also being a concept album). It tells the story of a man, made for a purpose, and him beginning to question that purpose. Questioning if he is more than what he is being told. It’s loosely based off the Hitman games." - Adrift On River Styx
