It’s really hard to think of another band that encapsulates a certain type of vibe that the 1990s brought the way 311 does. The band has just unveiled the first of a two part collection in ‘throwback EPs’ featuring a collection of unreleased live tracks, coming from the forever celebrated ‘Blue Album’. Included in volume 1 is a trio of songs including ‘Purpose’, ‘Down’ which is live from Portugal, and ‘Feels So Good’ recorded in 1996 at the Santa Barbara Bowl in California. We are now just a few weeks away from the release of volume 2. This new collection will feature ‘Down’ once again, ‘All Mixed Up’ live in Portugal back in 1997, and ‘T&P Combo’ live in Santa Barbara in 1996. Both volumes will be celebrating that timeless sound and energy that the band brought back in its heyday and is sure to be a mix of creating happiness from its nostalgia while also fitting in perfectly within today's standards of remastering.
Alongside this is a two month long tour that the band is days away from embarking on. They’ll be taking out alt rock band Badflower, along with Sitting On Saturn in what they are dubbing the Unity Tour. The tour kicks off June 20 in Atlantic City and concludes on August 31 in Pryor OK. Included on this leg is a stop at the Long Beach CA days of the returning Vans Warped Tour.
