Movements caused a ‘Ruckus’ this past spring and now the Southern California-based post-hardcore band have decided to not waste any time and have jumped right into their next chapter with the release of their brand new song “Afraid To Die” along with an accompanying music video. This is the band’s first piece of new music since the release of their latest album RUCKUS! last summer.

The new 3 minute anthem continues to explore the sound that showcased on RUCKUS! but with more energy and even subtle 80’s influences. Miranda delivers a belting vocal performance that adds an incredible amount of emotion to the song’s heartfelt lyrics. With thunderous drumming from York, harmonic, bouncy guitars from George and an anthemic chorus, “Afraid To Die” packs an sonic punch and further proves that Movements can push the boundaries of post-hardcore far and wide.

"With "Afraid to Die,' we were able to take the energy that was in RUCKUS!, and fine-tune it by exploring different realms of what this band can be and what our music can sound like, and I think we did a good job of that with this song. Sonically, it's so different than anything we've ever done, and yet I think it still pulls on the heart strings as a lot of our older music does. This song is energetic and bouncy, and I can see it being a really fun song to play live and I can't wait to start doing that!" - Vocalist Patrick Miranda on “Afraid to Die

Movements wrapped up a nearly sold out US Tour in support of their most recent album RUCKUS! with most of the dates selling out and the rest having low ticket warnings, making it one of the band’s most successful tours to date. The band will conduct a second US leg this September from 9/4 in Baltimore, Maryland to 10/12 in Austin, Texas with Turnover and Queen of Jeans. The band will also make an appearance at the When We Were Young Festival 10/19 and 10/20 in Las Vegas, Nevada, playing their first album Feel Something in its entirety. Before all of this though, the band will be touring the UK/EU next week for a string of headlining shows and festival appearances from 6/27 to 7/11 with Blue Deputy, The Winter Passing and Uzimaki serving as support on select headlining dates.
