Linkin Park Returns With New Lineup and New Music!

Linkin Park steps out into the spotlight after a seven-year hiatus shortly following the passing of Chester Bennington. Welcoming co-vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain with a new single, ‘The Emptiness Machine’ ahead of their album From Zero which releases November 15th.

Emily is formerly the cofounder of Dead Sara. The Alt-Rock ensemble formed in 2005 consisting of two members, Emily Armstrong, the raspy lead vocalist, alongside Siouxsie Medley as lead guitarist. Along the way, the duo expanded adding drummer Sean Friday and bassist Chris Null. Dead Sara took off in the early 2010’s, recognized by artists such as Courtney Love, Beck, and The Offspring. From nightclubs in LA to stages at Warped Tour, Dead Sara has become a well known name in the alternative industry. Emily was heavily encouraged by the group to take this opportunity as she has recalled Linkin Park to be a defining part of her desire to be a singer since the 2000s.

This has been in the works since September of 2023. The legendary musicians of Linkin Park have said they have been collaborating in recent years as friends to make this decision. Rob Bourdon, former drummer, has decided to take a step away from the group. In place, Colin Brittain was asked to join. Colin is a producer and song writer who primarily plays the drums, but also skilled in guitar, bass, and keyboard. Colin has worked with various artists such as All Time Low, A Day To Remember, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Papa Roach. Linkin Park is on tour now, giving us an insight as to what’s to come. Notably, Shinoda spoke out to the crowd on September 5, 2024, saying, “and in the role of Chester Bennington this afternoon, is each of you.”
