Ukrainian modern progressive metal band Jinjer has revealed plans for their highly anticipated fifth studio album, Duél, set for release on February 7, 2025, via Napalm Records. The album promises to showcase the band's signature blend of technical grooves, heavy progressive passages, and the powerful vocal range of frontwoman Tatiana Shmayluk.
Duél follows the success of their previous album, Wallflowers, which was released in 2021 and received critical acclaim. The new album promises a more aggressive sound, featuring tracks that highlight frontwoman Tatiana Shmayluk’s powerful vocals alongside intricate instrumentals. The latest single, "Kafka," showcases this evolution with its mix of haunting melodies and fierce growls, indicating a darker, more intense direction for the band.
The upcoming album was co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Max Morton, continuing the band’s tradition of collaboration with skilled producers.

Shmayluk shared her thoughts on the creative process: “Being an artist is sometimes beautiful but most of the time it’s brutal. Our art is dissected word for word, and we’re expected to be on point all the time. It feels like a Kafka novel for a lifetime—exciting yet surreal.”
The album Duél has reportedly undergone an extensive two-year songwriting process, during which the band focused on refining their sound and exploring new musical directions. Bassist Eugene Abdukhanov noted, “After all the releases we’ve made, finally having Duél ready to share with the world makes us proud that our band still hasn’t run out of creativity and inspiration. This upcoming album was the longest songwriting process we’ve ever had, and we worked hard to ensure it reflects our best music yet.”
Pre-orders for Jinjer’s upcoming album, Duél, are available here.
