HILLHAVEN: A New Force in Metal with Members from Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes to New

Earlier this year, a seismic shift occurred in the metal scene with the formation of a new supergroup, Hillhaven. This powerhouse band brings together members from the renowned Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes to New, promising a fresh and electrifying sound that fans of both bands are sure to love.

On August 7th, Hillhaven dropped the official video for their fourth single, 'SYCOPHANTS,' and it’s nothing short of a visual and auditory feast. If you haven’t seen it yet, prepare yourself for an experience that will make you want to get your party mosh on!

'SYCOPHANTS' follows the release of their previous singles, 'Damned to Dream,' 'The God You Think You Are,' and 'GAPS,' each of which has generated significant buzz and excitement within the metal community. But according to the band’s vocalist, Chris Kelly, this latest track holds a special place in their hearts.

“I think this might be the one we’ve all been most excited about, especially after shooting the video,” Kelly shares. “It kind of felt like we were all getting a little peek at what a Hillhaven show might actually look like and, honestly, it doesn’t get any less fun to watch, which I’ve done more times than I care to admit. There’s an energy and charisma to this song that makes you wanna let loose and that’s exactly what we did on set; one of those ‘core-memory’ type moments for us. Is party moshing a thing? Because it might have to be now.”

The lineup of Hillhaven is as impressive as it is diverse. Leading the charge is Chris Kelly, known for his work with Alustrium and ex-Galactic Empire, and who is rumored to play for Babymetal’s band. On drums, we have Maty Madiro from From Ashes to New, bringing his powerful and precise drumming style to the mix. Ricky Armellino from Ice Nine Kills handles the guitars, delivering the heavy riffs and intricate melodies that fans have come to expect. Joining him on guitars is Jimmy Bennett, a live member of From Ashes to New, adding another layer of depth and complexity to their sound. Rounding out the lineup is bassist Jaime GoWell, whose thunderous bass lines provide the perfect foundation for the band’s explosive sound.

With such a stellar lineup and a series of strong singles already under their belt, Hillhaven is poised to make a significant impact on the metal scene. Their music is a blend of intense energy, technical prowess, and raw emotion, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

So, if you’re a fan of metal and looking for your next favorite band, Hillhaven is definitely one to watch. Check out the video for 'SYCOPHANTS' and get ready to join the party mosh – it’s a ride you won’t want to miss!
